The Mansfield Swimming Club is a member of the Hume/Upper Goulburn District Amateur Swimming Association (District 22 which comprises Kilmore, Mansfield, and Seymour & Yea).
A team of swimmers is chosen to compete against other clubs in the district for each pennant. Points are awarded which go towards winning the district shields.
Competitive swims are by age group, this means age as at 1st Pennant in December. Disability events are included in the program. We encourage all swimmers to compete in all pennants. To qualify to win an Age or Open Club Champion a swimmer must have participated in at least 50% of pennants.
Team Selection
· Swimmers to are to confirm their attendance by MONDAY night if they are available to swim at the pennant on the following Saturday. This must be a firm commitment for the pennant.
· Preference shall be given to swimmers who train regularly with the Mansfield Swimming Club at allocated training sessions.
· Younger swimmers may be selected to swim up age groups, if no swimmers are available in an age group. Swimmers are only able to “swim up” one age group for pennants.
·
The aim of the Selection Committee is to give everySwimmer a chance to participate in a pennant team
Transport
This is by private car and we require the help of parents of all swimmers. It is a great opportunity to support your child and also the club by not only providing transport but also helping out as a time keeper/official, cheer squad or a general helper.
