Training at the Mansfield Outdoor Pool will resume in November 2024. Details will be emailed to all returning members before this date. Please contact us via email [email protected] to be added to our newsletter list.
2024/2025 Training times Monday / Wednesday morning 6.30am - 8am (starting time is squad dependant) Breakfast Club included Friday morning 7am - 8am (competition squad only - details TBC). NO Breakfast Club provided
Tuesday / Thursday afternoon 4pm - 5pm or 5 - 6.30pm (squad dependant) Swimmers are encouraged to speak to the coaches about the number of sessions that they should be attending. With our short season we have found that the potential for injuries with over training can be high - please be mindful of training within your fitness and skill set. Senior swimmers should be training with our squads at least twice a week. 8U swimmers will be offered afternoon sessions only (and possibly move to mornings at the discretion of the coaching team). 10U swimmers need to talk with the coach regarding morning sessions. Our afternoon squads are usually broken into junior / junior development swimmers at 4pm (up to and including grade 6) and our senior swimmers (usually secondary school) at 5pm. Variations may occur according to the ability and social needs of each swimmer at the coaching team discretion.
CLUB BATHERS Whilst are club bathers are not compulsory, we'd love to see as many of our clubbies as possible repping the Mansfield Swim Club (especially those who want to compete). Purchases are directly via the Funkita / Funky Trunks webpage and can be ordered at any time throughout the season.
* Ensure that you have registered your Swimming Victoria membership BEFORE purchasing so that you can use your 20% discount. If you are not sure what your code is, search your emails to find your welcome email from registration. The code is in the email and is valid until 30 June of the following year - and be used multiple times.
* Create an account / login at the Funkita / Funky Trunks webpage so that you can collect "Feed the Funkys" points which act as credits toward your next purchase.
The club pattern is called "Blue Bars" or "Seal Team". If your swimmer would like some plain bathers as well, we recommend choosing the colour "Still Ocean" which is in a similar colourway.
CLUB MERCHANDISE ALL of our club merchandise (except caps, bathers& goggles) is available directly from our club shop on Swim Merch. Whilst it is not compulsory to purchase we encourage our competition members to wear club polos (at minimum).
GEAR BAGS All swimmers need to bring the following to every session:
Named water bottle
Swimming cap - compulsory
Goggles
Flippers
Pull Buoy*
Kickboard - we have club supplies for those who don't have their own
*Only for senior squad members. Gear is to be stored in a mesh bag (so that it can drain) and can be left at the club if needed (eg for our morning swimmers). Swimmers need to ensure that their gear bag is at the end of the pool EVERY SESSION. An example of the type of bag can be found here: www.funkita.com/collection/47-mesh-gear-bag
IF your swimmer would like to borrow club flippers either as an interim measure or for the season, we can assist either before or after their squad session. Names will be recorded so that club equipment is returned at the end of the season.
