swim clubs. As there are two swimming pools in Seymour (indoor 25 metre and outdoor 50 metre) we swim in Seymour twice and every other pool once. We also host a home Pennant in Mansfield. Pennant competitions are normally held on Saturday afternoons.
Pennant swimming is all about our team. Swimmers can choose to enter races according to their age group and ability. The club will also enter relays according to the number of club members entered. There are also some individual swims that are usually longer distances (100, 200 and 400 metres).
Each swim gives points to our club - regardless of where we place - so we encourage members to have someone swimming in every race. The first swimmer from each club receives points toward the total. For example Club A has swimmers who place 1st, 4th and 5th. Club B has swimmers who place 2nd, 3rd and 8th. Club C has swimmers who place 6th and 7th. Points are allocated as follows: Club A - 1st place points Club B - 2nd place points Club C - 3rd place points
Pennant swimming is a lot of fun and a great way to come along and enjoy competition swimming.
Swimmers who wish to be eligible for the Mansfield Swim Club Age Champion trophies must swim a minimum of 50% of Pennant events.
Swimmers who would like to compete at a Pennant Event will need to enter online via their Swim Central login. Entries close 7 days prior to the Pennant at 5pm. All relays will be entered by the club. Transport is usually available to help swimmers get to the event.
